Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we do not have the time to request more information from you & may reject your application based on insufficient or incomplete information. Please provide detailed & in-depth answers to ALL questions to increase your chances of being approved for adoption.We do reserve the right to reject any application for any reason. If you do get a rejection notice from us, this is a final decision however wrong you feel we may be.

PLEASE NOTE: The adoption fees for our puppies/dogs generally run $200.00-$400.00 each but could be more or less depending on pet adoptability. In general our dog fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, micro-chipping, worming & flea control. Kittens under 6 months old are $85.00 & cats over 6 months run $75.00 which includes spay/neuter, flea treatment, worming and negative testing for Felv/FIV. Purebred or highly adoptable cats will be more.

- We do not hold or "reserve" pets. Please do not submit this application unless you are truly serious about adopting one of our pets and are ready & able to pick up your new pet within 1 week following your approval at our main location or one of our 'showing' store sites. Be sure you are willing to drive the distance to pick up your pet if approved. Map our location in Hinsdale/Cuba, NY to see how far you are away.

This application is for Joyful Rescue use only and does not apply to any other rescue or shelter.

TO COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION, YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER FOR CAT ADOPTION & AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE FOR DOG ADOPTION. Very few exceptions are made.

Due to the high kill rates in shelters in TN, NC, SC, OH, WV, GA and various other regions, we do not adopt pets into those states/areas. We prefer you save a pet from being euthanized in your home area. If you have questions about your locale, please email us before completing the application. Thank you for understanding.

We may respond to your application by email. Please be sure that your email setup allows you to accept emails from joyfulrescues@hughes.net

We do reserve the right to deny any application for any reason. If you do get a denial notice from us, this is a final decision however wrong you feel we may be.

Applications without 3 valid references & a vet reference (for pets owned the last 10 years) may be automatically rejected. *
